A: No, day2day solar offers a fully inclusive service – everything is taken care of.
Q: Do I need scaffolding?
A: In most situations yes. day2day solar would take care of this for you.
Q: What happens if I didn’t use an MCS registered installer?
A: Then you would not be eligible for the Feed in Tariff (FIT)
Q: Will I need planning permission?
A: In most situations you would not need planning permission. We however always recommend that you contact your local planning department just to double check.
Q: Does PV only work on South facing roofs?
A: Solar PV works most efficiently on a 30 degree South facing roof . However any roof pitch or orientation will suit PV. See attached pictogram detailing how the different pitches and orientation affect the efficiency of an array..
Q: How much space do I need?
A: This will depend on the overall size of the array. Most panels that day2day solar supplies are approximately 1600mm tall by 1000mm wide.
Q: Will I need a special meter?
A: As part of the installation day2day solar will install an Ofgem approved Total Generation Meter. This will record the cumulative output from the PV modules. It is the periodic readings from this meter that the FIT payments are based on.
Q: What happens if I move?
A: The installation is registered to the address and therefore can not be taken with you if you move. However your installation should increase your property value and saleability. It is could also be possible to enter into a ‘rent-a-roof’ agreement with the purchaser.
Q: How long does an installation take
A: A typical domestic PV installation would take between 1-2 days.
